BAND OF THE WEEK: OFF!

Pull out your psychedelic handkerchiefs,  because here comes my sob story. It’s not been a good week.

I’ll be a good friend and spare you the details, but a week of personal frustrations culminated with a Friday night breaking and entering being perpetrated on my truck. Taken were several things of great value to me, not the least of which being my positive mental attitude. They did not, however, take the copy of the great new Midday Veil album I received in the mail that very day, proving the thieves have no taste.

As I attempt now to rebuild the state of mind advocated by one of my favorite Virginians of all time, I turn to our special friend – music – and look to dance on fire as it, indeed, intends.

Earlier in the week, a good friend of mine slipped me a copy of the new seven-inch by OFF!. OFF! is the high-velocity combo of Keith Morris (Black Flag, Circle Jerks), Dimitri Coats (Burning Brides), Steven Shane McDonald (Red Kross) and Mario Rubalcaba (Hot Snakes, Rocket From the Crypts). It sounds exactly like it should sound – perfect.
